Make referencing easier with EndNote

EndNote is a handy software program that helps you manage your references and cite them in your document as you write.

EndNote makes it easy to import sources from library databases as you search to build your own library, and then cite them quickly in any referencing style. It’s the perfect sidekick for your assignment or literature review.

Wondering how to get started?

The library’s EndNote guide is the best place to find out all about this software. It has information about the latest updates, helpful videos and heaps of step-by-step instructions. Work your way through each tab of the guide and you’ll be citing like a pro in no time!

Remember to always check!

While EndNote is a great solution to organising large lists of references, you should get into the habit of dedicating time to proofread your references and in-text citations before you submit your assignments for marking. Are the commas in the right place? Have you italicised the correct titles? Did you include the retrieved date of your source? This attention to detail is especially important to some markers.

To make sure you don’t lose precious marks on referencing, always remember to double-check your reference formats are consistent with the Deakin Guide to Referencing.

If you want to learn more about EndNote, keep an eye on the library’s What’s On page. They run tutorials every trimester to help you learn how to make the most of using this software.
