Fire your imagination at The Storymakers Institute digital summit
Everyone loves a good story. Stories that are told, shared, passed on and passed down. Stories that have a purpose – a beginning, an end. Stories with layers in between, whether truthful or fictitious. Stories that ask and answer questions – evoking emotion and inciting action.
But what makes a great story?
Join The Storymakers Institute digital summit, supported by Deakin and featuring an all-star line-up of presenters, to learn more as we unpack this question!
Designed for storytellers from all walks of life and professions (including Australian creatives, artists, creators, performers, writers, journalists, and marketing and communication professionals), this one-day digital summit will spark your imagination, challenge your ideas and encourage you to consider new ways of making, telling and understanding stories.
Hosted and curated by award-winning storymaker Joel Carnegie, and presented from Deakin University’s Nyaal precinct, The Storymakers Institute will unlock a diverse range of perspectives, experiences, and knowledge to help you become a better storymaker. Speakers include Tyson Yunkaporta, Sue Lawson, Bert LaBonte, Alice Pung, and Belinda Hawkins.
The event will also feature live music from one of Australia’s most promising guitarists and composers, Maximillian Rudd, and a rejuvenating virtual ‘Wayapa Wuurrk’® mindfulness session with Gourrmjanyuk (Wemba Wemba) and Dhudhuroa Theddora Mittung woman Thaedra Frangos.
And best of all, as a Deakin student you can receive half-price tickets for just $20 (plus a small booking fee) by entering the discount code DEAKINMATES when you secure your tickets.
