Library Basics Part 3: Searching effectively

Are you in your first trimester at Deakin or returning to study after a break? We’ve got you covered. Each week, we’re sharing a library tip, tool or service we think you should know about. To effectively search for research articles, make a plan and choose your keywords carefully. Start by thinking about the best words that describe your assessment topic. Note down the concrete idea – this will form the basis of a good search. Action items (like comparedescribe or argue) don’t usually work well.

We know this extra step might not feel natural at first, but planning your search before you start will save you time in the long run.
