Learn how to get the uni–life balance right in our interactive wellbeing sessions
As Trimester 1 kicks off, are you worried how you’ll stay on top of your studies while also having a social life, work commitments and family responsibilities? We know from experience that students who struggle to manage competing demands are more likely to feel stress and anxiety.
Never fear – we’re here to help! We’re running a series of free online sessions about managing uni life for success. Founded on the principles of positive psychology, they explain some tried and tested ways to get everything done while staying happy and healthy.
Every session also features our own amazing Deakin Wellbeing Ambassadors – fellow students who can help you learn new knowledge and skills and find the confidence to make healthy changes.
How it works
The first three sessions focus on specific themes, and provide helpful solutions and strategies. You’ll learn:
- how to use your time, identify priorities and set reasonable boundaries
- some simple changes that may help you better cope with uni life
- the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and how to ask for help if you need it.
To keep things dynamic, the sessions are designed to be interactive – you won’t just be listening to someone talk. The presentation from qualified psychologist Dr Andrew Stock will be accompanied by group activities and regular discussions so you can reflect on what you’re learning. These will be led by Deakin’s Wellbeing Ambassadors.
The fourth session is an open social chat run by our Wellbeing Ambassadors where you can build on and share your new knowledge in a safe and friendly group environment.
Learn more about each session and register below. As each session builds on the previous one, you’ll benefit most if you attend all of the sessions. If you can’t make one or all of the times, you can watch the complete presentation at a time that suits you by:
- registering using your Deakin email
- creating a username and password to log in.
