Happy Women’s Health Week (7–11 September)!

How are you (or the ladies in your life) looking after yourself while we’re in lockdown? It’s more important than ever for us to take proactive steps to manage our health and wellbeing right now.

DeakinACTIVE is a big supporter of Women’s Health Week and to celebrate, this week we’re sharing a range of special health and fitness advice and activities to help you recharge, get inspired and get MOVEing for spring!

Tuesday 8 September

  • Give it a go with This Girl Can
This Girl Can celebrates women who are giving their all, or giving it a go, but not giving a damn. In partnership with VicHealth, the campaign is about breaking stereotypes and inspiring all women to be active, and features active local women instead of professional athletes or airbrushed Instagram models. The This Girl Can Victoria campaign has led to an incredible one in five Victorian women increasing their physical activity since the campaign launched in March 2018. Check out the This Girl Can Victoria Facebook page for a range of activities and advice to get you moving!
  • Meditate the day away
As we head into the end of Trimester 2, we could all benefit from learning some techniques to help calm us and hone our focus ahead of exams. Join DeakinACTIVE trainer Jodie live on the DeakinACTIVE Instagram page from 7.30–8pm for a guided meditation session to wind you down for the evening.
