Tenancy Law

Learn about what you can do if you’re struggling to pay rent, negotiating rent reductions, breaking leases and other tenancy laws while staying COVIDSafe.
Post-Study Visa Options
Thursday 30 July 2020, 1–3pm
Learn about migration pathways after you graduate; the types of visas you can apply for when you graduate, such as a Temporary Graduate Visa (485) or a Skilled Independent Visa (189); changes to the Skilled Migration Visa Occupations List; and have your questions answered on student visa conditions.
Applying for New Student Visa
Thursday 6 August, 2020, 1–3pm
If your student visa is about to expire, you’ll want to attend this session. The Migration Agent will walk you through the steps on how to apply for a new student visa, and you are encouraged to follow along with your own online application. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
Working and Employee Rights
Thursday 20 August 2020, 1–3pm
Learn about working in Australia and the laws in place to protect you in the workplace. The session will cover your rights as an independent contractor (e.g. Uber Eats, Deliveroo), casual employee and permanent employee; how to identify and avoid scams; how to apply for a Tax File Number; and the rules you must adhere to when working on a Student Visa.
