What will Trimester 2/Semester 2 look like?

While you’re probably focused on the current revision and assessment period right now, we want to let you know how things are shaping up for the start of Trimester 2/Semester 2, 2020 (T2/S2), and how we’ll be delivering your classes.

Online learning will continue in T2/S2

As we continue to manage the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of classes and seminars will be delivered online for the whole of T2/S2. Current exemptions for some units will continue to apply.

We’re working on a plan for the gradual re-introduction of on-campus delivery of practical classes and other activities that require campus facilities, but this will be subject to government advice and restrictions.

We’ll keep you up to date as these plans evolve and you’ll receive any information relevant to your units at the appropriate time.

If you’re new to online study in T2/S2

If you’re returning to study with us after a break, there’s heaps of support to help you transition to online study. We understand this may be the first time you have studied wholly online, so we’ll be offering recorded and live online sessions before Week 1 that will help you make the most of your online study space.

Orientation is going online!

If you’re starting your Deakin journey in T2/S2, get set for an awesome online Orientation experience! This will feature live and interactive sessions before and during OWeek and Week 1. You’ll get to experience learning in our online spaces, meet academics and other students, and set yourself up for study success. We’ll email you all the info you need to know, so stay tuned!

Stay in touch and access help if you need it

As in Trimester 1, all of our support services will continue to operate online:

You can also connect and engage with other students through our Together@Deakin connecting student online program.

Make sure you join the Together@Deakin Facebook Group and check out the wide range of DUSA clubs and societies, which are continuing to run awesome online events.

We wish everyone success in the upcoming final assessment period, and can’t wait to see you back on campus as soon as it is safe!
