What kind of support do you need with your studies? Deakin has a range of support services you can access from home as you’re studying for exam replacement tasks and working on your assessments. You can get support with your studies, connect with other students and put some time into your health. We’ve put together a list of services for you to explore as we head towards the end of trimester.
Study support offers students many ways to get advice and guidance on their assessments and preparation for exam replacement tasks.
Language and Learning Advisers can give you the tools you need to better understand your assessments and develop your study skills. You can book an appointment and speak to them over phone or Skype for Business.
Maths Mentors and Writing Mentors are specially trained students who provide personalised advice on writing, planning assignments and maths concepts. You don’t need an appointment to see a mentor, you can drop in to an online session using BB Collaborate.
Smarthinking is a free service where you can get writing feedback and online tutoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can learn more about this service on the study support webpage.
If you feel like you need to talk to someone about anything that’s happening in your life you can make an appointment to speak to a Deakin counsellor. You don’t have to access counselling support in person – phone appointments are also available. You can contact any of our on-campus offices to book an appointment with a counsellor.
Health and Wellbeing
Learn about keeping fit and healthy while studying at Deakin’s health and wellbeing webpage. You can find more information about exercising, eating healthy, mental health and a host of other health-related content.
You can also visit the eWellbeing section of DeakinSync and access apps and articles to support your health.
If you’ve always been a Cloud student, Deakin Buddies is a new web tool that offers you the opportunity to find other Cloud Campus students who interested in connecting. You can search for students studying the same course or units and for people living in your local area.
Connecting with other students is a great way to improve your learning. Studying with others can keep you motivated and improve your understanding of a topic. It’s also a great way to make friends and share your experiences. Join Deakin Buddies today.
