Take some time out for you during DUSA Wellness Week

Well, it’s been quite a trimester so far! Nothing has been as we expected at the start of 2020, but we can all be proud of the way our community has adjusted to online learning and taken up the challenge of living in a COVID-19 world.

So now it’s time for a well-earned break! During DUSA Wellness Week (Sunday 17 to Friday 22 May), make sure you take the time to close the books and focus on your overall wellbeing – encompassing your physical, mental, financial and social welfare.

We’re running a series of awesome online events to help you de-stress, take a breather and re-focus in the lead-up to final assessments and exams. These activities cover everything from workouts and e-sports to financial advice and trivia nights.

So however you want to relax, you’ll find something on the DUSA Wellness Week website – check out the full program online. This includes specific dates, times and how to access each virtual event.

To whet your appetite, we’ve listed some highlights below.

Self-care Sunday

Kick off Wellness Week on Sunday 17 May with some indulgence and relaxation. Enter a different ‘room’ for activities like face masks and body scrubs.

Free wellness webinars

Hear from experts on a range of important topics, including managing money and debt, finance for final-year students, and how to find joy through yoga and meditation.

DUSA Clubs events

Our awesome clubs and societies are hosting an incredible range of activities, from virtual trivia and party games to an online scavenger hunt and a wellness concert from Deakin Voice members!

There’s even some online study sessions if you can’t stop thinking about the books, as well as tips from your peers on how to survive online study and ISO time.

All students are welcome, so join in to meet some new friends and have a laugh!

DeakinACTIVE live stream

Each day at noon, DeakinACTIVE will be hosting an online workout, covering yoga, HIIT, core, tabata and pilates. So get off that couch and raise a sweat – all those endorphins will make you feel amazing!

Daily wellness recipes

Did you know that two-minute noodles can be made healthy? Find out how and discover other awesome snacks with our step-by-step ‘Recipe of the day’ videos.

But wait, there’s more!

You can also meet some furry friends with the Melbourne Zoo 24/7 Animals at home live stream and take up our TikTok challenge to win $100! Or perhaps a knitting ‘crafternoon’ is more your scene?
