Deakin has a team of staff and students dedicated to providing study support services to help you get the most out of your learning experience.
*This information is relevant to Trimester 1/Semester 1, 2020*
What help with your studies do you need? From writing an essay to general advice, Deakin will continue to provide you with study support while you study online from home.
Make sure you check out the study support site for many helpful resources to help you study and complete assessments. Popular resources include Deakin’s Guide to referencing plus our wide range of Academic skills guides which contain tips regarding time management, study plans, and assignment advice.
If you need more personalised support:
- Get in touch with our Language and Learning Advisers for help on any assessments you’re not sure about. You can book a phone or Skype appointment online.
- Attend an online drop-in with our Writing Mentors or Maths Mentors or contact them by email. The online drop-in hours will be extended in the coming weeks. Please note on-campus drop-ins with Writing Mentors and Maths Mentors will not be available.
- Try Smarthinking if you’re feeling stuck. Smarthinking is Deakin’s online tutoring and writing feedback service that allows you to reach out for assistance at any time that is convenient for you, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- While face-to-face PASS sessions have been paused this week (until Friday 20 March), peer-assisted study sessions that provide specific help for units will be available again as online CloudPASS sessions from Monday 23 March.
Remember you are not alone – we are always available to help when you have a question! Check the Study Support site from Monday 23 March for more information about accessing study advice and feedback for your work.
