Simple ways you can meet other Cloud Campus students
Connecting with your peers can be a real challenge when you’re working full time, raising a family or living outside of Victoria. We’ve put together some tips on how you can reach out to your fellow online learners and make a meaningful connection.
1. Discussion board
The first thing you should do is visit the discussion board on your unit site. Write a short introduction and let everyone know that you’re studying online and looking to chat with others about the subject. If you see that anyone else has posted in the discussion board, post a reply. Joining in with the discussion is a great way to make a connection.
2. Facebook group
Join Deakin’s Cloud Campus Facebook group and be part of a vibrant community of more than 3000 online learners. This is a great space to connect with other students and get some hints and tips on how to succeed at online study.
Make a post and let everyone know what you’re studying and what you’re looking for from the group. If you want, you can let everyone know what area you’re from and find some students who are studying close by.
You can also use the ‘search this group’ field on the left control bar to search for course names, unit names and codes to find other students who are looking to make a connection.
3. Cloud Campus events
In Trimester 1, 2020 the Cloud Campus team is visiting locations all around Australia. This is your opportunity to meet face-to-face with your fellow Cloud Campus students, have your questions answered by a Deakin staff member and find out more about new resources to support your learning.
Visit the Cloud Campus events page to find an event that works for you.
