Meet the DUSA Cloud Campus Committee
DUSA’s Student Council is made up of a spread of students from all Deakin campuses, including the Cloud Campus. The 2020 DUSA Cloud Campus committee is a group of online student representatives who each speak for a certain area of student experience. They are all about engaging with the Cloud Campus community to ensure students are informed of their rights and have access to services.
If you have any suggestions or questions for any member of the DUSA Cloud Campus committee, don’t hesitate to get in touch via [email protected].
GiGi McBeath, Cloud Campus Coordinator
I have an undergrad in holistic counselling and I’m currently completing postgrad studies in policy and psychology. The 2020 Cloud Campus Committee aims to provide a user-friendly, inclusive environment to support a positive student experience. We encourage your participation, and are looking forward to rolling out some Cloud-based events including information campaigns and competitions! We can also assist you in accessing DUSA advocacy services – these are available to all students.
Matt Ashby, Cloud Campus Student Engagement Rep
I live in Brisbane and I work in IT Operations Management. I’m currently completing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Leadership and Information Systems via the Cloud Campus. This is my second year in a Cloud Campus representative role and I’m keen to provide Deakin’s online learners with innovative ways to connect with DUSA and the University.
Louis Hehir, Accessibility and Services Representative
I’m 20 years old and I’m studying a Bachelor of International Studies. In my spare time I enjoy sports, politics and spending time with friends and family. My role at DUSA is making sure you know what services DUSA and Deakin provide for Cloud Campus students. My goal for DUSA this year is to increase the engagement of students as well as making sure everyone studying online at Deakin understands how to access everything on offer from DUSA and Deakin.
Madeleine Stratmann, Cloud Campus Diversity and Belonging Representative
I’m currently studying law via the Cloud Campus and work within the legal sector full time. I joined DUSA because I am passionate about empowering students and their access to university education. Coming from a rural background, I understand the challenges faced by students trying to access opportunities and explore innovative ideas. DUSA empowers students to discover their passion and ideas – it’s my job as the Diversity and Belonging Representative to ensure this is done in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Glenn Dunbar, Cloud Campus Equity Representative
Hi! I’m Glenn, a country guy from rural South Australia studying Software Engineering via the Cloud Campus. The Cloud Campus is a unique learning environment, presenting many benefits but also many missed opportunities for Cloud Campus students compared to their on-campus peers.
As the Cloud Campus Equity Representative, I’m aiming to bridge these gaps – ensuring Cloud Campus students have access to all support services, as well as social and academic opportunities.
