Learn to swim in Geelong’s Women’s Swimming Program

***To further assist in the prevention of the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to protect the health of our community we will be closing all Swim Sport & Leisure centres from Thursday 19 March 2020 until 1 April 2020.***

The City of Greater Geelong is running a women’s swimming program so you can learn to enjoy Victoria’s beaches and pools safely.

If you’re an international student, or you’re not confident in the water, it’s a great opportunity to learn a skill that’s essential when you live in Australia. When swimming in the ocean, it’s important that you understand the dangers of rip currents, rocks and reefs, and always swim between the flags. Visit the Beachsafe website to learn more about water safety.

This program is open to women of all ages (12 years +). It’s a great way to socialise and network with other students and young women from the Geelong region in a comfortable, inclusive environment. And, it’s also a fun way to stay healthy and fit!

The program runs every Sunday (beginning Sunday 15 March until 31 May 2020) and it’s only $5 per class, so you can participate at any time for the number of classes that suits you. You just need to come along on the night.

Where: Waterworld, corner Melbourne and Cox Roads, Norlane

When: Sundays from 7.15–9.15pm (no classes on 12 April and 26 April)

Bring: bathers and a towel

For further information or enquiries, please contact Waterworld on 5275 1909.
