If so, apply to become a Wellbeing Ambassador! It’s a great way to build your leadership and communication skills, make friends and share your knowledge of Deakin’s health and wellbeing programs and services with other students.

What does being a Wellbeing Ambassador involve?

As a Wellbeing Ambassador, you will help to promote Deakin’s health and wellbeing programs and services to students as well as plan, design and deliver new health promotion activities at Deakin. You’ll take part in related events and be a friendly and approachable advocate for Deakin’s messaging around student wellbeing, encompassing mental wellbeing, physical health, healthy eating and sexual health.

We are currently looking for 20 Wellbeing Ambassadors to commence in Trimester 1, 2020. The Wellbeing Ambassador role is for a minimum of 12 months. Subject to meeting the eligibility requirements, Wellbeing Ambassadors can continue with the program throughout the life of the 2020–2023 Deakin Student Health Promotion Strategy.

What’s in it for me?

As a Wellbeing Ambassador, you’ll receive a number of opportunities to build your personal and professional skills. You’ll receive professional development, training and on-the-job experience that you can put on your resume. You’ll be making a real difference to the lives of your university peers, and you’re guaranteed to make new friends.

Wellbeing Ambassadors are paid casual positions.

To apply, you must be a current Deakin student, having completed a minimum of eight units of study (with at least a credit average) and with a minimum of two trimesters still to complete. You will also need to undergo an employee Working with Children Check. You can read the full Position Description for the Wellbeing Ambassador role here.
