Learn more about support services for Cloud Campus students
Cloud Campus students have access to every support service on offer at Deakin. We’ve put together a list of support services that you might need as a Cloud Campus student as we head into the second half of trimester. You can explore the full range of services through Deakin’s Cloud Campus student website.
Smarthinking
Smarthinking offers Deakin students online tutoring and assignment feedback 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is particularly useful for Cloud Campus students who are working full time or who live in a different timezone. You can get real-time online support in a variety of different subjects at a time that suits you. For feedback on an assignment, remember to allow 24 hours for a response. To learn more about Smarthinking, visit Deakin’s Study Support webpage.
Study support
Study Support also has a wide range of different services and resources that are easily accessible by Cloud Campus students.
The academic skills guides have all the information you need to get the most out of your studies. The guide to referencing is particularly useful, as well as the guide to communicating online.
You can also book an appointment with a Language and Learning Advisor, either via Skype for Business or at one of our campus locations, to learn more about improving your assignments, study skills and learning methods.
Library
If you have any questions about finding a resource, searching for online articles, or the availability of an e-book version of a textbook, you can find the answer by the using the 24-hour chat window on the Deakin Library homepage. You can also speak with a Liaison Librarian who specialises in your area of study.
Visit the Cloud Campus library webpage to find a range of useful resources, as well as more information about how you can borrow books and have them mailed to you free of charge.
Software library
Find all sorts of useful programs and apps available free of charge through the Deakin Software Library. Download Microsoft Teams to create a communal space to work on a group assignment. Access the full suite of Office programs for both Windows and Mac. You can also find programs like Endnote which manages bibliographic references.
