New digital signs keeping you in the loop
Have you noticed any flash new digital signs around campus? We recently rolled out hundreds of new screens to easily showcase important news, events and services to the Deakin community.
You’ll find these screens in a range of locations, including:
- In lecture theatres and classrooms sharing a common foyer space: large wall-mounted summary screens display what’s happening in each room, along with handy information like a newsfeed of current events and a weather feed (to help you decide whether to hit the beach after class!).
- Outside meeting spaces and classrooms: smaller screens fitted near the doors show what’s happening in that space, both currently and for the rest of the day. If the screen is displaying red, that space is in use; if it’s green, the space is free.
These screens are a good way for you to confirm that you’re in the right place – pretty handy for new students, during OWeek or when you find yourself at a campus you don’t usually spend much time at. And if you turn up to class and there’s been a last-minute room change, check the screen for information on where to go instead.
You’ll also see digital signs in common spaces like the library and food courts. These screens display useful information like bus and train timetables, and keep you up to date with events, promotions, study resources, and health and wellbeing services.
