Student Central is your starting point for questions about your Deakin studies.
STAR (Student Timetable Allocation and Registration) is now open for Trimester 3 preference entry. You can enter your selections any time during Preference Entry mode, which closes at 10am on Wednesday 30 October.
Your activities aren’t allocated until after this period, so as long as you enter your selections before the closing date you’ll have an equal chance of getting your preferred place.
STAR will then close for a day to sort all the allocations.
At 10am on Thursday 31 October, STAR will re-open (now in Allocation Adjustment mode) and you can view your timetable. You can also adjust your timetable if places are available and sync it to your calendar via the iCal function. All changes made to your timetable are immediate.
During Allocation Adjustment mode, you can use STAR’s ‘swaps’ feature – where you can request to swap to an activity that is currently full. If a place becomes available due to another student’s timetable change, you’ll receive an email to advise that your swap has been successful.
Some units have ‘clashable activities’. If you see a broken line around one of your activities in your timetable, this means the activity is clashable because it is also available online as a recording.
Visit the STAR website for more information on all of these features, as well as an instructional video, timelines and FAQs.
