Did you know that you can borrow classic and modern literature from the Deakin Library?

Unwind during your studies or on the break with our Reading Nook leisure reading books. There’s something for everyone – from thrillers to romance – selected by our Library staff. Each campus has a Reading Nook: it’s near the service points at Waterfront and Burwood (Level 2, near the new books), and on Level 3 near the top of the stairs at Waurn Ponds. At Warrnambool, you’ll find it on Level 2 near the training room.

Or, if you’d prefer some more traditional literature or would like to stretch your horizons, head to the 800s in the shelves for a browse. Here, you’ll discover both classics and modern literature from around the world. Take in Dracula in its original format, or check out other books by Margaret Atwood (author of The Handmaid’s Tale, recently adapted into a TV series) or another favourite author.

You can also search for books online. Just type in your favourite author into the search box on the Library homepage, and choose ‘Author’ from the drop-down list. Many of these novels are also available electronically.
