Dragon Festival: save the date and get involved
Dragon Festival is our celebration of student life at Deakin: diversity, health, sport, connectedness and having fun!
Starting with the Campus Clash on Sunday 18 March 2018 and finishing on Thursday 22 March 2018, Dragon Festival is full of activities, entertainment, food, pop-ups and opportunities to get involved, meet people and take a break from the books. There will be events at all five of our campuses.
Here’s a sneak peek of the program:
- Explore the new gyms and DUSA’s clubs and societies at DeakinACTIVE Day with sport stations, healthy food trucks and fitness classes
- Watch a movie under the stars at the Moonlight Cinema at Burwood
- Celebrate Harmony Day with henna tattoos, a chill-out zone and cultural performances (see below)
- Hang out at the Health and Wellbeing pop-up space: get a massage, watch a cooking demonstration and ride the smoothie bike
There will be giveaways and freebies available all week, so save the date. The full program will be launched next week on the Deakin Life blog, and you can follow our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) for further details.
We’re looking for performers for our Harmony Day celebrations, particularly from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Maybe you are a dancer, singer or musician and would like to perform? You can perform solo or in a group, and your performance only has to go for 3-5 minutes, but all performers must be Deakin students. Expressions of interest are open until next Friday 1 March 2018.
