Submission to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
Deakin Criminologist, Dr Wendy O’Brien, and Dr Kate Fitz-Gibbon (Monash) have provided a submission to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, on resolution 30/7 on ‘Human Rights in the Administration of Justice, including Juvenile Justice’.
The submission examines:
- Strategies to reduce the criminalisation of children;
- The minimum age of criminal responsibility;
- Strategies to reduce risks of violence in youth detention centres; and
- Indigenous led solutions to strengthening communities and reducing over-representation.
