Review of ‘A Second Chance for Justice’
The latest issue of the Deakin Law Review (2013, vol 18, issue 1) includes a review of Kate Fitz-Gibbon’s book ‘A Second Chance for Justice‘ (co-authored with Asher Flynn). The book critically examines the quest for justice in the double prosecution of David ‘Gabe’ Watson, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the basis of criminal negligence for the death of his wife – Christina Thomas Watson – in Australia, and upon release from prison in Queensland was tried and acquitted of her capital murder in Alabama.
The detailed review by Victoria Colvin (University of Queensland) describes the book as an ‘engaging read’ which ‘provides new perspectives on some of the key participants in the case’. Read the full review here.
