Rebecca Hiscock joins the Deakin Criminology Team

Rebecca Hiscock profileWe are very excited to announce that Rebecca Hiscock has joined our Deakin Criminology Team as a lecturer in criminology. Rebecca holds an Honours degree in Criminology from the University of Melbourne (2002). She has been a Policy Officer at the Victorian Department of Justice and Department of Human Services, working on a range of issues including street sex work, stalking intervention orders, spent convictions and alternative dispute resolution. Rebecca has taught in a wide range of criminology subjects at the University of Melbourne, with a particular focus on crime policy, gender and theoretical criminology.

While lecturing at Deakin Rebecca is also completing her PhD at the University of Melbourne on street sex work, exploring the impact of official discourses on street sex work identity. Her broader research interests include gender and crime, crime policy, anti-social behaviour, criminalisation of public space, and criminal justice responses to consensual and non-consensual sexual acts.
