New Publication from Deakin Criminologist Peter Chambers
Deakin Criminologist, Dr Peter Chambers, has just published in Lo Squaderno: Explorations in Space and Society. In an article entitled Securing Australia – for SIVs, from SIEVs, via Edinburgh Gardens NYE, Dr Chambers identifies a number of contexts in which spaces are being ‘secured’ – public parks, sporting events, and the borders of Australia – in a fashion that suppresses the much needed political discussion around the ramifications of ‘securing’ space.
