Dr Diarmaid Harkin’s book Private Security and Domestic Violence was recently discussed in the House of Representatives, House Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs (clip from 15:22:00). In an exchange between Ms Karen Bentley (CEO of WESNET) and MP Sharon Claydon, Dr Harkin’s book was raised as highlighting concerns with private security companies working with victims of domestic violence. The committee has requested further information on Dr Harkin’s proposed solution for regulation.
