New CRADLE PhD Scholarship in AI: Deakin-Coventry Cotutelle

We are pleased to announce a new CRADLE PhD scholarship opportunity, a Cotutelle between Deakin and Coventry Universities. The area of study will be the impact of artificial intelligence on inclusive assessment, and the lead supervisors will be Dr Joanna Tai from Deakin and Dr Dimitar Angelov from Coventry. This cotutelle signals the beginning of a fruitful partnership between supervisors from CRADLE at Deakin and Coventry’s Centre for Global Learning (GLEA); we anticipate there will be additional opportunities in the near future.

For this particular scholarship the scope of the topic is relatively flexible: the project might focus on what teachers do, or students’ experiences; and the concept of inclusive assessment might cover formative assessments, or even feedback. We particularly welcome critical perspectives on artificial intelligence, but the investigation should relate to higher education. Given this broad remit, we welcome enquiries from suitably qualified applicants, which also draws on their own interests and expertise. Where additional supervisory expertise might be required, another Deakin supervisor can be added to the team.

A cotutelle offers an exciting opportunity to undertake studies across the two universities. In this case the successful candidate will be based at CRADLE for the majority of the candidature but will also be required to spend a minimum of six months at Coventry University. To be awarded the dual qualification, the candidate will have to complete all doctoral requirements at both institutions.

For full details of the scholarship and eligibility criteria please visit the Deakin Scholarships page.
