Launching the 2021 CRADLE Seminar Series!

Please join us for our first seminar presented by CRADLE’s Director, Alfred Deakin Prof. David Boud – ‘The impact of CRADLE on higher education: how far have we come?’

Date & time: Monday 29 March 2021, 2pm via Zoom webinar

This is a retrospective address highlighting the changes in higher education assessment sphere as defined by CRADLE. The main questions to be considered are What has CRADLE achieved and where is it going after six years? This seminar will examine the agenda CRADLE has been pursuing and consider key ideas it has been promoting to influence higher education practice.

The focus will be on the interplay between the weighty problems experienced in teaching, learning and assessment and how research can help to address them. Two major challenges for research on higher education will be considered. Firstly, to manage the tension between what is worth doing to improve practice and what has become commonplace and taken for granted. Secondly, to balance the demands of research with the messiness of everyday educational practice.

Professor David Boud and his CRADLE colleagues will outline key ideas they have been influential in getting established and explore how they are being taken up by the higher education community. They will also point to emerging themes ripe for future collaboration.
