Global academic acclaim for Deakin and CRADLE Researchers in 2021

Deakin University and its researchers have been recognised as among the world’s finest research minds as reported by The Australian’s newly released Research Magazine 2021 ‘Aussie unis that lead the world’ and ‘Australia’s top 250 researchers in 2021’.
Australian universities were named for being the global leaders in 20 fields of research, with Deakin University accounting for three different research fields: Higher Education (for the second year running), Education, and International Business. This represents a significant measure of impact on global research.
The accolades recognise the crucial role research plays in bettering Australian lives, with several lists acknowledging Deakin researchers as some of the world’s brightest minds.
Congratulations to CRADLE’s Director Alfred Deakin Prof. David Boud and A/Prof. Rola Ajjawi who have been named as field-leading Australian researchers. David is again the leading Australian researcher in the field and Global Leader in the field of research in Higher Education for the third year in a row. David is also the top Australian researcher in the field and Global Leader in the field of research in Education and Academic and Psychological Testing. Rola was recognised as the top Australian researcher in the field of Science and Engineering Education for the second year running.
The Australian’s 2021 Research Magazine uses the number of citations for papers published in the top 20 journals in each field over the past five years to determine the top researcher and top research institution in each field of research. The citation metrics for David and Rola significantly contribute to Deakin’s position as a global leader in the fields of Higher Education and Education research and reflect CRADLE’s standing in these areas. Additional congratulations goes to David who has been named in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2021. He is recognised due to multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science for the field of Social Sciences.
