From Copenhagen to Melbourne: New PhD Student Lasse Jensen

At the end of 2017 I became the first PhD student to enrol in a joint PhD under a new strategic partnership between Deakin University and the University of Copenhagen. In Copenhagen I am part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, and in Melbourne my home base is CRADLE.

I arrived in Melbourne in late January to meet my supervisors, Margaret Bearman and David Boud, and the other colleagues at CRADLE, and to get my project off to a good start. The plan is to stay here three months this time, and just now while writing this I realise that I’m already halfway through my stay. In some ways it feels like the blink of an eye, and I get a little bit stressed that I still haven’t decided the direction of my project. At the same time, though, I don’t remember when I last learnt so much in just six weeks.

This time around I’ll be in Melbourne until 23 April, and by then I’ll hopefully be able to write another blog post here that actually presents my research project. Until then, feel free to AMA if you come by the office, or catch me on @onlineyearning or email.
