First CRADLE book to be launched in Helsinki

CRADLE are excited to announce the upcoming launch of our first book, Developing Evaluative Judgement in Higher Education, at the EARLI SIG1 Assessment & Evaluation conference in Helsinki.

CRADLE Honorary Professor Ernesto Panadero (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), recipient of the 2017 Erik de Corte Award, will officially launch the book at the University of Helsinki on Thursday 30 August. He will be joined at the event by the editors of Developing Evaluative Judgement in Higher EducationDavid Boud, Rola Ajjawi, Phillip Dawson and Joanna Tai.

We are very pleased to have developed an excellent resource which explores and expands on the concept of evaluative judgement, and we are very grateful for the contributions of all our co-authors. Evaluative judgement should be a goal of higher education, to enable students to improve their work and to meet their future learning needs: a necessary capability of graduates. We look forward to the ongoing discussion and development of ideas and practices linked to evaluative judgement which will arise from this book.

All attendees will go into the draw to win a copy of the book, and there will also be Australian delicacies to sample.

When?    1.30 pm to 2.00 pm, Thursday 30 August 2018

Where?   Room 302, 3rd floor, Athena building, University of Helsinki

So if you’re attending EARLI, please come along and join us in celebrating the launch of the first CRADLE book!

This comprehensive and thoughtful edited collection, authored by a stellar cast of Australasian contributors provides an original and pragmatic guide to using practices including self- and peer-assessment, rubrics and exemplars, and dialogic feedback to enhance learning in a digitally enabled world.
