CRADLE Seminar Series: Ask me anything about cheating and online learning – with Prof Phillip Dawson, 21 Sept 2021, 2pm AEST
13 September 2021
Our next event in the CRADLE Seminar Series is a live and interactive Q&A session with Prof Phillip Dawson, one of Australia’s leading authorities on e-cheating and assessment security.
Cheating has been the hot-button issue of the switch to emergency remote learning. Over the past 18 months, we’ve seen unprecedented growth of remote proctored exams, automated essay writing tools, anti-cheating legislation, and the first $12 billion cheating company. New research puts the prevalence of commercial contract cheating at around one in ten students. On top of this, debate around the best ways to address cheating is now more polarised than ever. It’s a lot to keep up with.
To help navigate the current state of cheating, academic integrity and assessment security, Prof. Dawson will lead a live Q&A session on 21 September 2021, 2pm AEST. You can join this event by registering online and send any questions you have in an advance, via the online form. The session is hosted by Chukwudi Ogoh from Turnitin.
The Q&A session is the culmination of the four-part video series Tackling e-cheating & assessment security with Phillip Dawson. You can view the latest video, ‘Surveillance & weaponisation of integrity’, on YouTube.
