CRADLE PhD Student Ameena Payne Wins Prestigious Alumni Award

Illinois Tech Outstanding Young Alumnus/Young Alumna Award for 2022

Congratulations to Ameena Payne, CRADLE PhD candidate and strategic scholarship holder, who has been awarded the Outstanding Young Alumnus/Young Alumna Award for 2022 by the Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) in Chicago.

Alumni awards have been presented to Illinois Tech’s most accomplished, innovative, and influential alumni since 1946. The Outstanding Young Alumnus/Young Alumna Award honours alumni less than 40 years old who have advanced rapidly over the course of their careers and have displayed significant achievement in the areas of leadership and professional success.

Ameena, who completed her BSc in Business Administration at Illinois Tech in 2015, was presented the award by Illinois Tech President Dr Raj Echambadi and Trustee Mark Sexton. Ameena is grateful to the Illinois Tech Alumni Association for this recognition and incredible honour and is committed to continue to serve the communities around her.

About Ameena

Ameena received a CRADLE strategic PhD scholarship in 2022. Her research interests include learner analytics, assessment design, technology-enhanced feedback and equitable education. Ameena is currently undertaking research on her PhD project ‘The impact and role of power within feedback communications in undergraduate, online higher education’ with her CRADLE supervisors Professor Rola Ajjawi and Professor Margaret Bearman.
