CRADLE Co-Director Alfred Deakin Professor David Boud named a Global Leader in Education and Higher Education
7 February 2023
Worldwide acclaim for Deakin and CRADLE
The influence and impact on global research by Australian researchers has been recognised in The Australian’s 2023 Research Magazine and The Australian’s report by Tim Dodd on 25 January 2023.
Congratulations to CRADLE’s Foundation Director, Alfred Deakin Professor David Boud for being named as one of only nine Australian academic researchers who are the best in the world in their respective fields. Only two researchers were global leaders in two academic fields. An outstanding achievement!
David is again the global leader in Higher Education research for the fourth year in a row and global leader in Education research for the second time. David’s research publications attracted more citations that any other researcher in those fields across the world.
In an earlier blog post we congratulated David for being recognised as the top Australian researcher in Higher Education research for the fourth year running and in Education and Academic and Psychological Testing for the second year in a row. He was also named in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers 2022 for having multiple highly-cited Social Sciences papers that rank globally in the top 1% by citations.
These accomplishments have significantly contributed to Deakin’s position as a global leader in Higher Education research for the third year running and Education research for the second year running.
The Australian’s 2023 Research Magazine uses the number of citations for papers published in the top 20 journals in each field over the past five years to determine the Australian and world recognised top researcher in each field. The data is sourced from the League of Scholars which holds data on scholars from over 130,000 universities and research institutions and over 4 million authors.
