A new CRADLE Fellowship for 2025

We are pleased to announce that a new CRADLE Fellowship has been awarded for 2025. Congratulations and welcome to Dr Chris Hughes, Associate Professor of Supervisor Development at the Researcher Development Academy.

Chris’s fellowship project ‘Doctoral learning, supervision and assessment in the GenAI context – Changing digital conditions of/for learning’ aims to examine the impacts of GenAI in the conduct of research. Chris will focus on the human concepts of Logic, Language and Meaning, especially in the development of scholars. More specifically, he will try to identify the set of concerns and questions held by graduate researchers, research supervisors and assessors. Additionally, he will explore how they navigate this new concept. The goal is to better understand forward-thinking policy approaches.

We wish Chris well as he undertakes this empirical investigation. He will be researching what is largely an underexplored and overlooked aspect of education and GenAI – doctoral supervision, learning, and assessment.
