Dr. Lee Rollins
ARC DECRA Fellow. Faculty of Science, Engineering & Built Environment.
Lee Rollins is a member of the faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment at Deakin University. Her research looks at invasive species and how they move across invasive ranges.
Lee is particularly interested in introduced species’ genetic and epigenetic changes and the interactions between these. Her research is important in dealing with and managing invasive species and understanding how native species respond to changes in climate to enable scientists to make future predictions about organisms and their survival.
One of her research questions tries to understand the role of epigenetic change during an invasion. Lee’s research focuses on studying wild populations such as cane toads and understanding the genetic changes that occur as a result of their introduction. She is also interested in their genetic impact on the native species they interact with.
