Kathleen is a Doctoral Researcher at Deakin University and her research focus is carbon fibre materials that are used in products such as cars, aeroplanes and prosthetic limbs.
She is particularly interested in understanding how the carbon fibre and plastic polymer components are able to adhere to each other making the composite stronger and safer, which will significantly impact their use, affordability and impact on the environment. Her research enables her to work in the fields of chemistry, engineering and material science and involves working collaboratively with a number of scientists.
