Associate Professor Chris Waters

Associate Professor Chris WatersDr Chris Waters teaches twentieth-century world history, the history of Australia’s involvement in the two world wars, and Australian political history. Chris has published widely on Australia and the Second World War, the history of the Cold War, and the history of the decolonisation of the European Empires. He is very happy to supervise Honours and PhD students in these areas of history. Chris also serves as both the Discipline Convenor for History at Deakin and the Executive Leader of the Contemporary Histories Research Group.

Chris is currently working on a research project with Helen Gardner, The Decolonisation of Melanesia, a broad investigation of the decolonisation of Melanesia from both a local and international perspective.
