Three Minute Thesis Competition

This year, as in 2020, the 2021 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition goes virtual via video – same competition, just different format!

HDR Students who are interested in competing in the 3MT should read the Virtual_3MT_Handbook_Participating_Universities2021 provided by the University of Queensland.

Please read the Handbook to guide you on creating a video submission. The rules have been altered to accommodate the virtual format so please ensure you read these thoroughly.

If you would like to participate in the competition, you will need to complete the 3MT- 2021 Entry Form and return to [email protected] by Wednesday 16 June COB, along with your video submission.

A reminder that all competitors must be active PhD candidates and must have successfully completed confirmation of candidature.

Business and Law will have 3 judges who will consider the presentations and announce the 2 winners to represent the Faculty at the University final heat on the Thursday 19 August 2021, 3-5pm.

Remember, you only have 3 minutes to present your thesis and only one static PowerPoint slide is allowed – no other props.
