Learning Resources for WRDS research databases
The Faculty subscribes to several research databases through the Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS). WRDS has recently provided a range of learning resources designed for both beginner and advanced users, including the following –
- Video tutorials on data provide a guided tour through the most commonly used datasets with video learning and accompanying slide deck.

Registered users can see a list of the databases accessible through WRDS when they log on, in addition to the databases provided by WRDS at no cost.
Applying for an account
- Point your web browser to http://wrds.wharton.upenn.edu
- Click on the link to Register for a WRDS Account
- Fill out the form (Account type ‘PhD’)
- Click Submit.
