Learning Resources for WRDS research databases

The Faculty subscribes to several research databases through the Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS).  WRDS has recently provided a range of learning resources designed for both beginner and advanced users, including the following –

• Video tutorials on data provide a guided tour through the most commonly used datasets with video learning and accompanying slide deck.
• Resources for new users include –
  • Getting started
  • What data is in WRDS?
  • Finding the data you want
• WRDS Analytical tools for advanced researchers

Registered users can see a list of the databases accessible through WRDS when they log on, in addition to the databases provided by WRDS at no cost.

Applying for an account

1. Point your web browser to http://wrds.wharton.upenn.edu
2. Click on the link to Register for a WRDS Account  
3. Fill out the form (Account type ‘PhD’)
4. Click Submit.
