Re-energise with a work break
Spring may be just around the corner, but it’s still cold outside!
Staying active, eating nutritious foods, having a work/life balance all help to contribute to physical and emotional wellbeing, and productivity.
Re-energise with some tips from the experts, and some common sense.
- Take regular breaks from your desk, by taking a quick break every half hour – stand, stretch, or grab a drink before returning to work. (More information about the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) at Deakin can be found here or on Twitter at @DeakinIPAN.
- Take the stairs instead of the lift, or try something more sporty.
- Take a walk or a run, along the Gardiner Creek Trail that runs between Elgar Road precinct and the main Burwood campus. Or the Geelong Waterfront.
- Check out the Deakin University Art Gallery.
- Stay healthy.
- S-T-R-E-T-C-H!!!
- Don’t procrastinate! Meditate with the Smiling Mind free Mindfulness app or try some relaxation techniques.
And please ask for support. Contact any Deakin Medical Centre or the Counselling and Psychological Support team.
