Celebrate Diwali with Deakin

Every year, millions of people diverse faiths come together to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali.

Diwali is one of the most important occasions on the Hindu calendar. It’s an annual celebration that signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair. It is a time to come together and experience a moment of joy, rejuvenation and good fortune.

To mark the occasion, people around the world decorate their homes in delicate rangoli artworks, colourful candles and lights, and spend time with their families watching fireworks and sharing meals.

Join us at the Diwali Festival of Lights 2018 celebrations at the Geelong Waterfront Campus. This year marks Deakin’s 10th annual event. Register early as there are limited free tickets and each year there is a wait list.
