Join our HDR Student Presentation Skills Training half-day workshop with Dr Jon Hopwood.

Thursday 8 November, 1:00 – 4:30pm. Building LB, Room LB3.210

Whether giving a presentation at your department’s research seminar or at a conference, or approaching your Confirmation, you will gain invaluable assistance to enhance your current presentation practice, and expert advice to develop clear actions and improve your technique.

You will –

• build confidence in articulating your ideas and hypotheses assertively
• learn how to connect with and understand your audience with greater clarity and empathy
• learn how to deliver your argument in an inspiring and interactive way for maximum impact.

This workshop is vital whether you are facing confirmation and the challenges of this important milestone, or preparing to present at a conference or seminar.

The session will be facilitated by Dr Jon Hopwood of Social Agility. Jon has run a number of well-received and popular sessions on Presentation skills, Managing the PhD journey and Industry Engagement for HDR students. He is a Deakin PhD graduate and his business specialises in communication and interpersonal skills training.
