Strategic Directions
The BBN is currently studying the following strategic possibilities:
- Developing a self-paced tourist trail signposted to explore the sites of the TV locations for City Stresses Country Pleasures, ending up at the interactive exhibit at the Bilby Museum (in partnership with Bendalong Regional Tourism and Bilby Shire Council).
Check out the Bilby Business Network slideshow below to review some of the businesses engaged in revitalising tourism in Bilby.
- A regional report on tourism and hospitality across Bendaby region, focused on strategies for transferring tourism opportunities to other aspects of the region – for example adventure tourism such as rafting and hot air ballooning, food/drink festivals, multicultural events.
- Supporting BuildStrong Construction to develop an intensive training program for potential employees ready for a cohesive building program for the refugee resettlement program.
- Liaising with TrustWind Australasian Headquarters to investigate ways to integrate the organisation into the Bilby community – focused on green displays at festivals and education programs and the establishment of a tourist eco-centre.
- Investigating Bilby as a regional growth centre – a base for government and not-for-profit regional offices
