Deakin Library is pleased to announce that we will again be joining National Simultaneous Storytime<\/span><\/a> this year! <\/span><\/p>\n

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the <\/span>Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)<\/span><\/a>. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2023 NSS will be held at 11am on<\/strong> Wednesday 24 May<\/strong> and will feature the book The Speedy Sloth<\/a>, written by Rebecca Young and illustrated by Heath McKenzie.<\/span> Rebecca will read the book from a livestreamed event at The Sydney Zoo, that will also feature a drawing lesson from Heath and a special appearance from some of the Sydney Zoo residents. Other VIP guest readers this year include TV presenter Grant Denyer and <\/span>Children\u2019s Laureate Gabrielle Wang. <\/span><\/p>\n
