Some of my favourite resources
This platform hosts some of the best health databases, including MEDLINE Complete, Global Health, CINAHL Complete, SPORTDiscus and PsycINFO.
It is also easy to use and, in regards to systematic reviews, allows a large set of results to be exported into EndNote.
2. Advanced Search Health resource guide
This guide provides videos, handouts, activities and instructions to assist staff and students in doing a systematic review.
I love the stable link builder because it’s so easy to use and it automatically creates the link for you – no more copying the link from the database and then copying the ‘ezproxy’ part, and then joining them together.
Lots of EndNote information is included here, with clear step-by-step instructions. The PDF intro guides are also great.
Having a resource guide for the different areas is fabulous. When I get a health student who is doing a law unit, I can just get them to look at the Law resource guide; or if they’re looking at virtual reality and gaming, I can send them the link to the Information Technology resource guide.
There are also quite a few different guides in the Health and Medicine area.
Of course, I think the Health, Disability Studies, Exercise Science, Food Science and Nutrition resource guides are the best.
My favourite recent book
I enjoy reading Nora Roberts, especially the Chronicle of the One series.
