Our new webpage makes copyright easy
Copyright can be confusing and like so many aspects of the law, not understanding it is not an excuse if you end up breaking the rules! But don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with easy, accessible copyright information in the library.
Our new Copyright website demystifies this complicated subject by providing you user-friendly basics, research and teaching considerations, as well as help finding copyright-free resources. The website will help you make better decisions about using and creating material for your study, research or teaching.
We answer all of your commonly asked questions, including:
- What is copyright?
- Who owns it, and how long does it last?
- How do I get permission to use copyright-protected content?
- How do I cite or attribute works?
We also have specialised content for academics and researchers, including considerations you need to make in your teaching materials, thesis and publishing your research.
In the near future, more content will be added for professional staff, and soon you can expect interactive copyright modules for students.
If you have any questions about the content, please contact the Copyright Office.
