We’re celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime 2022!
Deakin Library is excited to be joining National Simultaneous Storytime again in 2022. We’ll be reading along with children from the local community at several of our campuses, and we encourage you to join in virtually as well!
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
This year, NSS will be held at 11am, Wednesday 25 May 2022 and will feature the book Family Tree, written by Josh Pyke and illustrated by Ronojoy Ghosh. You’ll find this book in our CRC collection.
How you can participate
There are a number of ways to engage with NSS this year:
- Reach out to your local public library / childcare centre / primary school library and find out how they are celebrating NSS. You could even run NSS at home!
- If you’re going to hold NSS at home, don’t forget to register to participate.
- Head over to the ALIANational Youtube Channel to watch the guest readers read Family Tree. You can set a reminder from the videos linked below so you don’t miss a thing!
