3 ways to de-stress after exams
You have made it to exam week of Trimester 1. Whether you are new to Deakin this year or a returning student, there is no doubt that the first trimester of 2020 has presented some challenges. You have met every one of them, working through a transition to online learning and physical distancing from your friends at the same time. For that, you deserve to be congratulated!
As you prepare to make your way through online exam replacement tasks or final assignments, remember that the library is always here to help answer last-minute questions or find resources. Once you hit submit and send your hard work off to be assessed, we have some fun suggestions for how to de-stress and relax during the trimester break.
1. Try a digital jigsaw puzzle
Our staff have designed some digital jigsaw puzzles for you to complete, featuring images from our Special Collection.
Choose from the slider at the top:
And start your puzzle!
2. Watch a good film
Did you know the library gives you access to stream hundreds of free movies on Beamafilm? Log in using your Deakin credentials to browse the huge range of comedies, dramas, documentaries and children’s movies, as well as films by Indigenous creators, Oscar nominees and more.
3. Read a novel
If you’re looking for a good book to get stuck into once all your required reading is done, we have tonnes of e-book novels for you to choose from! To find them on the library website, simply choose ‘Advanced Search’ from the library homepage, type ‘Fiction’ into the search box and select ‘SU Subject Terms’ in the dropdown. Hit search, sort your results by ‘e-books’ in the sidebar, and you’re ready to start reading!
Looking for recommendations? We made a list of some of our favourites.
We hope these suggestions give you some new ideas for how to relax and unwind once you’re done with your exam replacement tasks and final assignments. Congratulations again on completing Trimester 1, and we look forward to helping you with your studies again in T2!
