Industry Tracks is a visual/aural project first presented at the Geelong After Dark Festival in May 2017. Blending the past, present and future of industry and its contribution to local culture Industry Tracks records a passenger train on its journey to/from the edge of the city of Geelong; through the city’s industrial northern suburbs to its central station. The visuals of the project (filmed directly through the windows of the train) are first split horizontally in two (at the beginnings/ends of this journey) and then further split as the journey proceeds before re-merging at its conclusions. Such visual and aural resonances are the specific subject of Industry Tracks, framing this subject as a soundscape, or, to be more specific to its geo-cultural context, an aural trainscape.
