In October School of Architecture and Built Environments’ Dr Beau Beza, Associate Head Of School (Teaching & Learning), led a group of 16 postgraduate and undergraduate students on a Nepal Study Tour where they worked with the community of the Junbesi Valley on a Master Plan project.
As part of the students’ learning they also worked for three days building a potable water system for the recently constructed Junbesi High School; a school devastated by the 2015 earthquake.
Now that the drinking water project is complete the Head Master of the school said they can now open the school’s doors to about 60-80 kids! After the university students’ building and assignment work they trekked for three days in the Himalaya where they saw mountains like Everest.
