The School of Architecture and Built Environment’s student society, PLACE, hosted the PLACE + Deakin Industry Expo last week, it was a great opportunity for students to interact and engage with industry professionals relevant to their field in the Built Environment.
The night consisted of ample networking and mingling, guest speaker Kim Irons from Irons McDuff Architecture and a Q&A panel where students and teachers had the opportunity to pose key questions to the industry professionals present on the evening.
Students found the evening a highly beneficial initiative that really complimented their career endeavours.
Often students don’t necessarily have the opportunity to ask industry what they would like to see on a CV or what they value most out of a candidate and this is exactly what the evening offered.
